College of Engineering Advisory Board
Bi-annually, the College convenes the advisory board (EAB) to provide “external” advice to the College of Engineering regarding priorities and directions for engineering education and research. Its members are from the private sector and academia, and include both alumni and other individuals who are interested in the success of Georgia Tech. Invitation to the EAB is based on recommendations from the current members, from schools in the College of Engineering, and from discussions with the provost and president. The meetings are usually one day in duration, preceded by an evening dinner, and generally held in Atlanta twice a year, in the spring and fall.

Spring 2008
The Spring ’08 Engineering Advisory Board (EAB) met in Puerto Rico on April 24th & 25th. Close to 200 people attended a reception Thursday evening to hear speeches from Dean Don Giddens and Meade Sutterfield, chair of the Alumni Association. The event culminated in the announcement of a new slate of officers for the Puerto Rican Alumni Club. On Friday, after a full day of board meeting discussions on diversity, Federico Stubbe hosted an evening tour of the Castillo del Morro and a traditional Puerto Rican dinner at Banco Popular in Old El San Juan. Members staying Saturday toured Arecibo (Puerto Rico’s radio telescope) and lunched/golfed at Dorado Beach Resort as guests of Mr. Stubbe.
