Full-Time Teaching Faculty*

  • As of Fall 2008, 21 new faculty were added to COE to bring the total faculty on roll to 440.
  • COE faculty boasted 20 Regents' Professors and 85 named Chairs and Professorships. COE also has one Institute of Medicine (IOM) member, a Guggenheim Award winner, and 13 Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholars.
  • There are 25 National Academy of Engineering members on the Georgia Tech faculty.
  • Since the NSF CAREER Award was established for young faculty in 1995, 67 College of Engineering faculty have received this prestigious honor.
  • The College of Engineering received 1,074 new sponsored awards in 2008 totaling $146.5 million -- the highest ever for the college.
  • 45% of total tenured/tenure-track faculty are in the Georgia Tech College of Engineering.
