College of Engineering Strategic Plan
A team of faculty members, staff from GT Organizational Development, and COE Advisory Board members met in late 2004. The team was charged with identifying strategies to ensure the College of Engineering defines and provides world class engineering talent to Georgia, the nation and the world.
Consultations were held with the COE Faculty Advisory Council, Engineering Advisory Board, school chairs and the GT Office of Organizational Development (ODD) for the purpose of designing a planning process to update the COE Strategic Plan.
FIRST STAGE: Interviewed individual members of the Faculty Advisory Council; asked the Engineering Advisory Board to critique the current plan; and formed a Steering Committee comprising several faculty members and administrators.
SECOND STAGE: Strategic Planning Workshop held where selected faculty and academic administrators were asked to develop measurable objectives for COE that would guide us strategically for the next 5 years.
THIRD STAGE: Plan goals and objectives were presented to the COE faculty, staff and students through campus workshops.
FOURTH STAGE: (currently in progress) Adopt a formal plan during this academic year.
