Health Systems Institute (HSI) Director Search Underway

Director, Health Systems Institute and Joseph C. Mello Endowed Professorship in Health Systems

Established in 2005 within the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech, HSI is a multi-institutional and interdisciplinary research initiative based at Georgia Tech and Emory University that reports to the Dean of Engineering at Georgia Tech. HSI brings together the expertise to enable the development and implementation of novel interdisciplinary and collaborative research, education, and outreach programs to transform healthcare delivery systems and lead the nation away from an ineffective, reactive, disease-focused system to achieve a cost-effective, pro-active, health- and wellness-focused system. Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate or equivalent experience, as well as an established record of excellence in research and teaching, and administrative experience in establishing and managing cross-disciplinary collaborations, with a primary focus on research in health care delivery systems.  The Director will also be expected to pursue his/her own research program within HSI. The research areas of interest for this endowed position include applied research in health care delivery operations, quality of care measurement and management, patient safety, information and decision support systems. A focus or a strong interest in pediatric health care systems is desirable.
