Testimonials

Vanessa Vasquez, MSEE ‘08, GEM Fellow“I started my Masters in the fall; a new school, new city, new people, new everything. I missed my family and my friends, .... around that time I received an encouraging message from Dr. Benton-Johnson. Thanks to her guidance and hands on approach, I was able to successfully knock many of the curve balls that were thrown my way out of the park.” - Vanessa Vasquez, MSEE ‘08, GEM Fellow

Leonard Neely, BSCmpE ‘08“I had the opportunity to work with EEO on the LEAD pilot engineering program as a counselor. The experience exceeded every expectation. I was able to increase high school student interest in engineering and technology and have one of the most rewarding summers of my college career. The students were not only diverse talented quick learners; they were also energetic, personable, and downright fun!” - Leonard Neely, BSCmpE ‘08

Antroine Townes, Dual Degree Student, Morehouse College ‘04, Georgia Tech BSME ‘06“As a dual degree student from Morehouse College, the College of Engineering’s Engineering Education Outreach Office played a major part in my success at Georgia Tech. These programs provided me with scholarship funds, networking opportunities with current students which assisted me with my transition, and most importantly they gave me encouragement that enabled me to complete my Mechanical Engineering degree.” - Antroine Townes, Dual Degree Student, Morehouse College ‘04, Georgia Tech BSME ‘06

Amber VanNoy, LEAD SEI @ GT Participant, High School Junior“LEAD SEI @ GT taught me so many things, in so many different fields of engineering. I had absolutely no interest in engineering on my first day, but as time went on I began to not only understand the information, but enjoy it as well…. I am now officially considering Georgia Tech as one of my college choices, and the Dual Degree program which involves both Tech and Spelman.” - Amber VanNoy, LEAD SEI @ GT Participant, High School Junior
