U.S.News & World Report Ranks Georgia Tech College of Engineering Programs Among Best in Nation

The Georgia Tech College of Engineering, the nation’s largest, had had all of the programs ranked in the top ten in the recently released undergraduate rankings by U.S. News & World Report’s annual publication titled America’s Best Colleges for 2010. The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering continued to hang on to its number one ranking.  Aerospace secured the number 2 spot as they did last year.  Moving up in the rankings were:  Biomedical Engineering, Civil, Environmental, Materials, and Chemical. The rankings are as follows:

  • Industrial and Systems Engineering – 1st
  • Aerospace Engineering – 2nd 
  • Biomedical Engineering – 2nd   (up from 3rd last year)
  • Civil Engineering – 3rd   (up from 5th last year)
  • Computer Engineering – 6th 
  • Electrical Engineering – 5th 
  • Environmental Engineering – 5th (up from 6th last year)
  • Materials Science and Engineering – 7th  (up from 9th last year)
  • Mechanical Engineering – 4th
  • Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering – 9th (up from 12th last year)

Georgia Institute of Technology sustained its top-ten ranking among public universities, according to U.S. News, maintaining its seventh place standing among national public universities and ranking 35th for all public and private U.S. universities and colleges.
