"Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering has placed fourth in U.S. News & World Report magazine's latest annual ranking of national universities that offer doctoral degrees, once again receiving one of the highest scores through the magazine’s methodology. "Everyone in COE should feel proud of the reputation and accomplishments of the college and the schools," said Don Giddens, Dean of Engineering.

Tech’s College of Engineering also scored high in the newest rankings with nine schools finishing in the top ten programs in the country. Once again, the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) was the top ranked industrial/manufacturing program in the country. This is the fifteenth year in a row that ISyE has ranked number one. Other Tech engineering programs with top ten rankings included: Aerospace - 4th place (up from 5th last year); Biomedical Engineering - 2nd place; Civil Engineering - 6th place; Computer Engineering - 7th place; Electrical Engineering - 6th place (up from 7th last year); Environmental Engineering - 6th place; Materials Science and Engineering - 8th place (up from 9th last year); Mechanical Engineering - 7th place and Nuclear Engineering – 9th (first time on the top ten).  In all, ten of the 11 programs within Tech’s College of Engineering ranked in the top 10 of their respective disciplines.

U.S. News & World Report magazine has published its well-regarded graduate school rankings for 19 years. The magazine's criteria for determining overall engineering rankings include peer assessment, recruiter assessment, research activity, student selectivity and doctoral student-to-faculty ratio.
