Meet Adjoa Aka, Industrial Engineer
After graduation, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial and System Engineering and eventually apply my skills to help non- privileged communities.
I love giving back to my community through volunteering. I try to combine the skills I am learning from my industrial engineering (IE) course work with my passion to do good for others. For example, I can use the skills I am learning in my IE classes to help communities in need through Engineers without Borders, and I hope to keep using those skills to help communities in the future.
I am a member of the Student Alumni Association, the Georgia Tech African Student Association, and Engineers without Borders (EWB).
The H.Milton Stewart School of Industrial and System Engineering at Georgia Tech is the number one School of its kind in the nation, and the department has many great professors and advisors who are always willing to help students. Since I came to Georgia Tech, I have received scholarships; I was also offered research, internship, study and work abroad opportunities. More importantly, I have the chance to apply what I am learning in class to real life through Engineers Without Borders. I feel so privileged to be a Georgia Tech student. Coming to Georgia Tech was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Courageous, perseverance, hope, faith, friendly, impatient, outgoing, hardworking, sweet, and loving
The best way I can show my gratitude is by giving back.
