Second-year ISyE student Sarah Canastra finished first at the U.S. Department of Energy's JUMP into STEM online competition along with her computer science teammates Hunter Hancock and Lucas Kiefer. The interdisciplinary team won the Grid Interactive Efficient Buildings challenge by designing an algorithm for smart water heaters .
